Business Situation & Requirements
The client aimed to launch a lottery-style gaming application in the UAE but had to navigate strict regulatory and legal constraints, as conventional lottery models conflicted with Sharia-compliant guidelines. This created complexities in ensuring legal alignment while building user trust and driving engagement. Additionally, the client needed to differentiate the concept from traditional gambling-based systems and design an engagement model that would be both compliant and commercially viable.
The client had a patented Sharia-compliant concept where users would not directly purchase lottery tickets. Instead, they would earn points through purchases made via an online store or a network of 15,000+ physical outlets, unlocking eligibility to participate after reaching a defined threshold.
The client required a technology partner to build a secure, scalable, and user-friendly application that could successfully translate this unique concept into a market-ready product.
Key requirements were:
Conceptualize the lottery system and define user journeys through detailed user stories
Design wireframes and UI/UX for seamless user experience across platforms
Develop business logic to support Sharia-compliant lottery participation
Build two integrated platforms: an e-commerce system and a lottery application
Enable customizable backend and frontend for operational flexibility
Ensure high scalability, secure transactions, and reliable system performance
